What We Do
Since November 2024, we have focused on systematically briefing UK lawmakers about extinction risk from superintelligent AI. We have briefed over 150 parliamentarians and the Prime Minister’s office. You can learn more about our experience speaking to parliamentarians here.
Our Work in Westminster
We work to increase the awareness in Parliament of the threat from superintelligence by advising on legislation, amendments, and debates. For example, we were happy to advise on this 2026 amendment proposing last resort, or “kill switch”, powers to enable the Government to direct the shut down of UK data centres during AI emergencies. This amendment is supported by over 10 MPs and has received coverage in The Telegraph.
