What We Do
In just over 9 months ControlAI has briefed more than 120 Canadian MPs and Senators on the extinction risk posed by superintelligent AI and the need to create an international coalition to prevent its development.
Our work in Canada is led by Samuel Buteau. Samuel is an AI researcher with over ten years of experience across academia and industry. Before joining ControlAI, he was a Senior AI Safety Scientist at Mila (the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute), where he worked directly with Turing Award winner Yoshua Bengio on frontier AI safety.

Andrea Miotti is the founder and CEO of ControlAI, a non-profit dedicated to mitigating the risks from powerful AI systems. ControlAI calls for prohibiting the development of superintelligent AI, as AI experts assess it poses an extinction risk.
