Campaign Statement
Deepfakes are non-consensually AI-generated voices, images or videos of real people, created to produce sexual imagery, commit fraud, and undermine democracy.
Most AI generated media is beneficial and innocuous - deepfakes are not. Deepfakes must be banned.
Deepfake production has grown rapidly, with no signs of stopping. Current legislation slows the sharing of non-consensual sexual imagery, but to conclusively stop the harm from deepfakes, legal liability must cover production and dissemination.
We must hold to account those that produce deepfake technology, create and enable deepfake content, and facilitate its spread.

How You Can Help
support the campaign
If you are an MP or a member of the House of Lords, and would be happy to have your name and face appear here as a supporter of action against deepfakes, please send us a quick email at hello@controlai.com.
Field our amendment
The fastest way to achieve change on this issue would be to attach an amendment to existing legislation.
We have prepared a draft amendment and have a list of possible bills which this could be proposed as an amendment to.
If you are an MP interested in fielding this, we would be honoured to work with you - please contact us at hello@controlai.com.
Alternatively, it would be possible to achieve change at a slower pace through a Private Member’s Bill.
With the assistance of top Parliamentary lawyers, we have prepared a full draft Bill, and would be honoured if you were to field it.
Again, if you would be interested in being the Parliamentary Deepfakes Champion, and leading the fight against deepfakes, please contact us at hello@controlai.com.
